Scar revision is a procedure aimed at improving the appearance of scars that may be raised, sunken, wide, or otherwise unsatisfactory. These scars can result from injury, surgery, or skin conditions and may cause discomfort, self-consciousness, or functional issues depending on their location.

Surgery involves removing or reshaping the existing scar tissue to create a smoother, less noticeable scar. The technique used will depend on the type and location of the scar, and sometimes skin grafts, local tissue rearrangement or liposculpture may be necessary.
