Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a procedure to reshape or reposition the ears, often to address concerns such as prominent ears, asymmetry, or deformities that may affect your appearance or self-confidence. These issues can sometimes cause psychological discomfort or feelings of being out of proportion with your facial features and whilst often performed in children, we also treat many adults who have suppressed their concerns for many years.

Surgery typically involves reshaping the cartilage to bring the ears closer to the head or correct irregularities, creating a more balanced and natural appearance. The procedure can be performed on one or both ears depending on your individual needs and you will need to wear a post-operative garment to protect your ears whilst they heal.

For children and young people under the age of 16, we work with the Nuffield Manor Hospital, one of the few private healthcare centres recognised as a dedicated specialist facility for delivering safe, high-quality care tailored specifically for this group of patients. A friendly consultation process ensures all pre-operative considerations are discussed in a non-intimidating way, enabling even our youngest patients to fully engage in their care.
